Government of Vietnam provides USD 50 thousand

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has donated to provide USD 50,000 to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to support Mongolia’s effort to fight the pandemic.


The donation has been handed over during a meeting held today between Chief of NEMA G.Ariunbuyan and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Doan Khanh Tam.


Chief of NEMA G.Ariunbuyan noted that the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries have further deepened and cooperation has been expanded in many fields, including politics, economy and humanities. He also thanked the Government and the people of Vietnam for rendering support in fighting COVID-19, protecting the health of the citizens. He said that the donation will be spent for the procurement of personal protective equipment for those who are working at the frontline.


Moreover, G.Ariunbuyan recalled that a Memorandum of Cooperation was established between NEMA and Agriculture Ministry of Vietnam during the Second Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Reduction in 2018, while expressing commitment to continue pay attention on expanding cooperation between similar organizations of the two countries.
