2,289 cases of COVID-19 reported

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. It was reported during today’s press briefing of the Ministry of Health that 2,289 new coronavirus cases were detected in the past 24 hours after tests were carried out at PCR laboratories across the country. 


In specific, 632 new cases were confirmed in Ulaanbaatar city with 1,657 cases in rural regions.


As a result, the nationwide infection tally is now 203,403. In the last 24 hours, 1,521 coronavirus patients were recovered and discharged from hospital. The Ministry also reported four new COVID-19 related deaths, raising the country's death toll to 923. 


As of today, August 26, a total of 2,077,191 people have received the second dose of vaccines against COVID-19, equal to 63.8 percent of the total population of Mongolia.
