Interest expressed in establishing multilateral cooperation unit under Parliament

/MONTSAME/. Member of the State Great Hural, Chairman of the Subcommittee on
Sustainable Development Mrs. Kh.Bulgantuya received ADB Country
Director Pavit Ramachandran on August 23.

Kh.Bulgantuya expressed her gratitude to the ADB for providing financial
support aimed at meeting pressing social and economic needs facing the country
amid the current pandemic situation. Furthermore, she expressed interest in establishing
a multilateral cooperation unit under the Parliament meeting, and hold meeting
with the representatives of the international organizations
working in the same field as the Parliamentary Subcommittee on Sustainable
Development. This will enable the implementation of sustainable development
policies in cooperation with international organizations, governmental and
non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.
Moreover,
she informed that the Parliamentary Research Institute of the Secretariat of
the State Great Hural has established a Youth Parliament within the framework
of parliamentary education and is ready to elect representatives from children
and youth of 21 aimags of Mongolia. She further stressed the importance of
introducing legal and sustainable development policies to the new generation.
In turn, Permanent Representative Pavit Ramachandran said that the ADB will pay attention on ensuring coordination of operations between State Great Khural and civil society representatives, particularly children and youth.
