Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On June 30, a photography exhibition themed ‘Russian classics on the Mongolian stage’ opened at the Russian Science and Culture Center in Ulaanbaatar at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of People’s Revolution of Mongolia, and the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Russia.

In the works to establish a professional theatre in Mongolia, Soviet instructors and professionals made significant contributions in preparing its artists and performers, who then brought dozens of highlight plays and performances by Soviet playwrights to the Mongolian stage. One of the Soviet theatre instructors was A.A.Yefremov who introduced the Stanislavski Technique in Mongolia.

The United Association of Mongolian Photographers and the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Ulaanbaatar are co-organizing the event.

The exhibition displays over 350 rare historical photographs being kept at arts and cultural organizations such as the State Academic Theatre of Drama, State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, Mongolian Puppet Theatre, Mongolian State Conservatory, and the Mongolian Theatre Museum.
