Daily COVID-19 cases rise to record 2,642, with 11 deaths

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At a daily COVID-19 press briefing of the Ministry of Health on June 17, it was reported that 2,642 new coronavirus cases were detected from 11,540 tests processed nationwide in the past 24 hours. 


2,641 of the new cases are locally-acquired cases, of which 1,733 were recorded in Ulaanbaatar and 908 in aimags and one healthcare worker tested positive for the virus. The Ministry of Health also reported that 11 people aged between 37 and 95 died from COVID-19, which takes the country’s COVID-19 death toll to 400. 


85,770 cases of coronavirus have so far been recorded in the country. In the last 24 hours, 512 coronavirus patients were discharged from hospital and 59 people were released from home isolation, making the number of COVID-19 recoveries 59,220. As of June 17, a total of 10,248 coronavirus patients are being treated at hospitals and 15,879 people are in home isolation.
