National flag carrier awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. By the decree of the President of
Mongolia Kh. Battulga, the national airline ‘MIAT’ was awarded the Order of the
Red Banner of Labour in recognition of its outstanding contribution to the
development of inclusive air transport that meets the social needs of citizens
and supports tourism through its activities that respect public interest, and
the creditable works of generations of its employees.
The award ceremony took place on May 23 and Chief of Staff of the Office of the President U. Shijir voiced the Presidential Decree and presented the award. After presenting the award, Mr. Shijir congratulated all generations of MIAT employees on the 65th anniversary of its establishment and Civil Aviation Day of Mongolia that is marked on the fourth Sunday of May every year.
Despite the global pandemic, MIAT has been continuously operating and conducted 142 charter flights to 24 destinations abroad so far, bringing about 26 thousand Mongolian nationals home. During this period, MIAT has also conducted about 300 flights to carry freights between Asia and Europe and transported approximately 5 million kilograms of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, including vaccines delivered by 22 flights.
