Mongolia, Thailand express readiness to intensify implementation of cultural agreement
SocietyUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. On April 19, Minister of Culture Ch.Nomin
held a virtual meeting with her Thailand counterpart.
In addition to the representatives of the Ministries of
Culture of Mongolia and the Kingdom of Thailand, the meeting was attended by the
Ambassador of Mongolia to the Kingdom of Thailand A.Tumur and Chargé d'Affaires
of the Embassy of Thailand in Beijing Benjamin Sukanjanajti.
Minister of Culture Ch.Nomin expressed her commitment to
work together actively with Minister Itthiphol Khunpluem and the Ministry of
Culture of the Kingdom of Thailand to expand friendly cooperation between the
two countries in the field of culture and arts.
The Ministers of Culture of the two countries noted their
readiness to intensify the implementation of the 2006 Cultural Agreement
between the Governments of Mongolia and the Kingdom of Thailand, to organize
cultural and artistic events, festivals and exhibitions, and to preserve and
restore cultural heritage and historical monuments and to exchange experts
within the framework of the agreement.
Moreover, the sides discussed the possibilities to lay the
foundation for the development of Mongol studies in Thailand and Thai studies
in Mongolia, to train Chinggis Khaan Museum staff in Thailand, to support the
exchange of experiences, to involve Mongolian artists in ASEAN film festivals
and other cultural events, and to promote Thai culture. They also agreed to
participate in major festivals to be organized with the support of the Ministry
and to organize exhibitions of modern and traditional art. They expressed their
willingness to work more closely together to deepen mutually beneficial
cooperation and enrich it with new content.
The Ministers also concurred to hold reciprocal visits when
the risk of the pandemic subsides.
