India to provide 15 quotas of full scholarship to Mongolian defense ministry

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 10th Joint Working Group Meeting between Defense Ministries of Mongolia and India was held virtually on April 16. The meeting was attended by State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Colonel D.Gankhuyag, Ambassador of India to Mongolia M.P.Singh, Joint Secretary of the Department of Defense, Indian Ministry of Defense Mr. Vishal Gagan, and other officials.


Expressing their delight with the continuation of military cooperation, the sides reiterated the need to deepen bilateral cooperation, strengthen strategic partnership, intensify cooperation in the common interest, in particular, in the fight against the pandemic.


Moreover, the two sides shared views on completion of construction of Cyber Security Training Center in Ulaanbaatar city by the end of 2021 with the help of India, possibilities to host Nomadic Elephant - joint military exercise in Mongolia at the end of 2021 as well as to train Mongolian officers and cadets in India, improve English language and IT knowledge of military servants of the Mongolian Armed Forces and invite Indian specialists to Mongolia within the special fellowship program of India.


Furthermore, the sides discussed the capacity building of engineers, military and police officers of the Mongolian Armed Forces within the framework of the memorandum concluded in 2015. They agreed to allocate all of 15 quotas with a full scholarship by the Indian Defense Ministry to the Ministry of Defense of Mongolia in 2021-2022.


In addition, State Secretary D.Gankhuyag re-affirmed the invitation for the Indian Minister of Defense to visit Mongolia at his convenience.


The Indian side agreed to send its delegates to participate in the Khaan Quest international peacekeeping exercise which will be held in Mongolia in July 2021.
