Deputy PM works in Tuv aimag

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the State Emergency Commission (SEC) S.Amarsaikhan worked in Tuv aimag to check measures being taken by Emergency Commission of the aimag in time of the pandemic.


Since the first COVID-19 infection case was reported in Tuv aimag on March 6, 16 people have been confirmed as being infected with the virus until today. Nine of them are undergoing treatment at the National Center for Communicable Diseases and seven are at general hospital of the aimag.


Officials presented that “One door-One test” campaign was organized throughout Zuunmod city, fully detecting close contacts of the confirmed cases and imposing quarantine in the aimag center from March 6 to March 11. As citizens travelling to other aimags pass through Tuv aimag, the officials made requests to the Deputy PM to establish PCR test laboratory and launch immunization in Tuv aimag immediately.


Saying that the SEC would render all necessary support in directions of curbing the pandemic and reducing the infection risk, the Deputy PM appraised well organization of activities for protecting the citizens’ health. "Works are underway to make all aimags have a test center. In frame of it, we aim to create condition to diagnose and give treatment in local area without transferring them to the capital city." Since immunization work has been accelerated, the Deputy PM gave a directive to ensure preparations well such as involving healthcare workers in training and providing them with information and advise.


The Deputy PM also heard report on wintering and spring situation and spring sowing. 4.8 million head of livestock are wintering in Tuv aimag, of which 370 thousand are transhumant animals from other aimags. According to preliminary estimation, herders in the aimag will receive 1.7 million offspring and necessary hay and fodder have been delivered to herders. 3,000 tons of grain seed and 5,000 tons of fodder crop seed are estimated to be required for spring sowing.
