Projects to be realized in two aimags under Grass-roots project

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Within the framework of Grass-roots Human Security Project by the Government of Japan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Kobayashi Hiroyuki held a virtual meeting yesterday with Governor of Tuv aimag D.Munkhbaatar and Governor of Khovd aimag B.Dugerjav.


During the meeting, the project agreements were signed to renovate kindergarten in Zuunmod soum of Tuv aimag and expand hospital building of Munkhkhairkan soum of Khovd aimag.




‘Bujinkhen Complex’ kindergarten building in Zuunmod soum will be renovated to meet international standards at a cost of about MNT 351.9 million with an aim to create favorable conditions for 355 children, 38 teachers and staff of the kindergarten to work, study and get educated in a healthy and safe environment. As for the hospital extension project that will improve the hospital’s medical services and hygiene, it will be realized at a cost of MNT 703 million.




A total of 563 projects have been implemented in Mongolia since the Grass-roots Human Security Project was launched in Mongolia in 1990.


Grass-roots Human Security Project is a cooperation project that runs by local administration and educational and medical organizations of the developing countries in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan with the funding of the Government of Japan which has the advantage that the local communities enjoy benefits directly of the projects.
