Senior journalist of MONTSAME News Agency G.Baatarchuluun awarded with ‘Honored Cultural Figure’ title

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On February 8, senior journalist of MONTSAME National News Agency, poet Baatarchuluun Gajid was awarded with the title, ‘Honored Cultural Figure’, per the decree of the President of Mongolia.
Following the award ceremony, he was received by the agency’s executives. Director-General of MONTSAME News Agency B.Ganchimeg congratulated him for being awarded on the threshold of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of MONTSAME, the first organization specializing in journalism in Mongolia, and wished him to continue to contribute to Mongolian journalism and serve as a model example as well as support for the younger generations.
During the 35 years he worked in the field, Honored Cultural Figure G.Baatarchuluun worked on about 60 thousand news, events and articles while working as a journalist and an editor at MONTSAME News Agency as well as at the National Public Radio.
It should also be noted that when he graduated from the Moscow State University of Russia with a major in journalism in 1968, he conducted his diploma work on the topic, ‘The Electronic News Agency of the Mongolian People’s Republic’. In his work, he cited an excerpt from the memoir of a Russian citizen named I.G.Demko about the first ever news story sent abroad by MONTA or MONTSAME News Agency on March 19, 1921. This was later recognized as an important historical fact for the news agency.
