Capital city reports 16 new cases of COVID-19

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. According to the National Center for Communicable Diseases, a total of 7062 people were involved in the PCR testing since yesterday, resulting in a detection of 16 positive cases of COVID-19 in Ulaanbaatar city today, January 25.


The new cases were detected by the second and third tests of people who had been in precautionary isolation. Some cases were also recorded in most recently registered cluster in the 4th, 5th and 8th sections of the 2nd khoroo of Bayanzurkh district. Moreover, an employee of the Ministry of Health was diagnosed with coronavirus, therefore 128 employees of the ministry were  tested, resulting in no detection of positive cases preliminarily. Five close contacts have been placed at isolation facilities while 28 people have been isolated at homes.


No new infections were recorded in provinces.       


Today, there are 1643 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mongolia, of which 1140 are related to various clusters of infection nationwide. The capital city has now registered 814 cases.
