Agriculture Minister meets EBRD Head of Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Z.Mendsaikhan virtually met with Hannes Takacs, Head of Mongolia at European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Z.Mendsaikhan thanked the bank for cooperating in the development of food, agriculture and light industry sector in Mongolia.


The parties discussed the projects on climate resilient water supply and Darkhan leather and hide processing complex. The Government set a goal to increase the size of irrigated farming lands to 100 thousand hectares by 2025 and as a result of investments to installation and upgrade of irrigation systems, irrigated farming lands reached 56 thousand hectares in 2019.
