Human Rights Commission members meet ILO National Coordinator

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Acting Chief Commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia (NHRCM) J.Khunan and NHRCM Commissioners G.Narantuya, D.Sunjid, and B.Enkhbold on January 6 discussed cooperation with International Labor Organization (ILO)’s National Coordinator for Mongolia P.Bolormaa, National Project Manager, and Programming and Administrative Assistant B.Bayartsetseg in a virtual meeting.

 

National Coordinator P.Bolormaa outlined ILO’s activities in Mongolia and its projects ‘SDG aligned budgeting to transform Employment in Mongolia’ and ‘Trade for Decent Work’.

 

The meeting discussed the necessity for Mongolia to ratify ILO Convention 190 on Violence and Harassment and agreed to make joint efforts to improve reporting on the implementation of ILO fundamental conventions, ensure their application, and harmonize them with national laws and regulations.

 

Moreover, the parties agreed to cooperate in monitoring the implementation of ‘Sustaining GSP-Plus Status by Strengthened National Capacities to Improve International Labor Standards Compliance and Reporting-Mongolia Phase 2 (GSP+3)’ and ILO Recommendations for Mongolia, especially the one concerning the rights of child jockeys in connection with the Worst Forms of Child Labor Convention, and raising awareness of workers’ rights during Covid-19.
