Workshop on ILO Violence and Harassment Convention held

Ulaanbaatar /MONSTAME/ A workshop on the ILO Convention 190 on Violence and Harassment is taking place these days with participation of Mongolian representatives, including members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Policy and lobby group against violence and representatives of the Ministry of labor and Social protection, National Human Rights Commission, Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU), Mongolian Employers’ Federation (MONEF), International Labor Organization (ILO), and the Population Fund.

 

They exchanged views on preventing gender-based violence during the pandemic, protecting the rights of girls and women, preventing violations of rights of employees in informal jobs, and addressing domestic violence on the rise during the pandemic. Minister of Labor and Social Protection A.Ariunzaya, CMTU President Kh.Amgalanbaatar, and MONEF President Kh.Ganbaatar expressed their positions on the importance and necessity of joining the Convention on Violence and Harassment. Moreover, the ILO Convention 190 and Recommendation 206 on Violence and Harassment, and the provisions on violence and harassment in the bill on the revised Labor Law of Mongolia were presented during the workshop.
