Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ 60 students qualified for the Student
Scholarship Program jointly run by Zorig Foundation and the Swiss Agency for
Development and Cooperation received their scholarship certificates on November
7.
The scholarship program selects 60 students each year in
two phases and aims to encourage and support those students who are struggling
to continue their studies due to financial difficulties despite their academic
achievements and community activeness.
Over the past 15 years, the scholarship program that is
open to students of any local university or college has benefited around 1,200
students and they have implemented over 150 micro-development projects as part
of the program. The scholars are also provided training for improved skills.
During the certificate presentation, the SDC Resident
Representative in Mongolia delivered remarks, encouraging the students to aspire
to become global citizens.
