Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Within the “Australian Cultural Month”, Australian films will be screened free of charge to Mongolian audiences at Australian Corner at Children's Central Library from October 26 to November 1, manager of Australian scholarship program for Mongolian students L.Enkhtuvshin informed during the opening of ““Australian Cultural Month” that took place yesterday, October 26. The films include Australia, Reddogs, Ned Kelly, Corcodile Dundee, Paper planes, The Dish, Rabbit Proof Fence, The sapphires and Babe.
During the opening ceremony, Mongolian-Australian joint short films “The Stairs” and “H is for Happiness” were presented to the guests. “The stairs” touched issues encountering to the people with disabilities and aimed to show it is possible to solve problems together.
Following the film event, graduates in Australia will make “Loud reading” on November 2-9, allowing people to get familiar with over 130 books. Furthermore, introduction of Australian top universities and scholarship programs and advice for IELTS preparation will be provided to public next weekend. Also “Australia through my imagination” hand drawing competition is being announced among students at 1 to 6 grades while “Australia that I know” English essay contest among students at 7 to 12 grades. Works for the competitions will be received until November 15.
Mozzies Mongolia-Australia Society, Mongolian Children’s Central Library and Social Consulting Institute with support of Australia Global Alumni are co-organizing “Australian Cultural Month” from October 19 to November 19.
