Pre-Olympic joint training with Cuba discussed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chief of the Physical Culture and Sports Authority Ts.Sharavjamts received Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Mongolia Raul Delgado Concepcion on October 19.

At the meeting, Mr. Ts.Sharavjamts noted "We have developed successful collaboration with the Ministry of Sports of Cuba in the last four years. I visited Cuba in personnel, being acquainted with activities of its sports scientific and medical institutions. And we established a new Sports Scientific and Medical Center based on your country’s rich experience. The sides also have cooperated in making joint training of athletes.

For his part, Ambassador Raul Delgado Concepcion expressed its readiness to bring Cuban athletes to Mongolia ahead of Tokyo-2020 Summer Olympics, which will be held next year, to make joint training.

The side of Cuba has willingness to make training of its national teams and athletes, who will take part in Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games together with Mongolian national teams of judo, boxing and free style wrestling while Mongolian side is highly interested in employing Cuban best boxing and volleyball coaches in Mongolia under contract. Generally, both sides considered it effective to participate in the Tokyo Olympic Games, collaborating in volleyball, freestyle wrestling, judo, boxing and gymnastics events, conducting joint training and sharing experiences ahead of the Olympics.
