Canadian Ambassador works in Khovd aimag

Khovd /MONTSAME/ During her visit to Khovd aimag on October 7, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Mongolia Catherine Ivkoff met with the aimag authorities. The sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation, upskilling local public employees, and supporting capacity development of women working in manufacturing and service industries.
Incidentally, as part of her 2018 visit to Khovd aimag, the Ambassador handed over MNT 38 million worth of medical equipment to the pediatric intensive care unit of the Khovd Regional Diagnostic and Treatment Center with support of the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives program. The local authorities underlined that the equipment provision has been of great significance in improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare for children and asked to cooperate in providing much needed equipment to a 50-bed children's hospital that is soon to open and a recently opened domestic violence shelter.
