‘Education for Sustainable Development-II’ project launches

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On September 15, the opening ceremony for the ‘Education for Sustainable Development-II’ project took place at Novotel Hotel in Ulaanbaatar city. With aims to mainstream education on sustainable development principles to Mongolia’s socio-economic through the national education system, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has implemented the project since 2014.




Head of Cooperation, Swiss Cooperation and Consular Agency in Mongolia Ph.D Stefanie Burri highlighted that the objective remains the same as the project’s first phase, which is giving support for creating sustainable, inclusive, environmentally, socially and economically responsible future and Phase II will focus on further strengthening the integration of sustainable development education.



 

With financing of CHF 2.6 million, the project will be jointly implemented with the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Mongolian Institute for Educational Research, and the Information and Training Center for Nature and Environment from 2020 to June 2022.
