Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On September 1, Minister of Environment and Tourism D.Sarangerel held a meeting with Ambassador of the United States of America to Mongolia Michael S. Klecheski to discuss some important matters in partnership, such as air pollution, water supply, waste management, and special protected areas.
US Ambassador Michael Klecheski said, “Our first priority issue is air pollution. We have focused on reducing air pollution and conducting air quality measurements. Furthermore, the establishment of an advanced-level laboratory for the measurement of water quality is currently under discussion through the Millenium Challenge Account (MCA) of Mongolia. I believe that it will be significantly important for Mongolia if a decision is made to implement it. Moreover, as the Denali National Park of the US and the Otgontenger Strictly Protected Area have been working in partnership, I would like to express our interest in having the partnership continue and further expand.”
In turn, Minister of Environment and Tourism D.Sarangerel expressed her satisfaction in jointly implementing the Water Supply Project in Ulaanbaatar city under the MCA Mongolia, and her gratitude for the suggestion to continue the partnership established between the Denali National Park of the US and the Otgontenger Strictly Protected Area.
