Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On August 17, officials led by Acting Governor of the Capital City J.Batbayasgalan, Deputy Prime Minister Ya.Sodbaatar, and Member of Parliament P S.Amarsaikhan presented vehicles that are able to be operated in any difficult weather conditions to the Capital City Health Department, National Center for Communicable Diseases, National Center for Zoonotic Disease, and the Capital City Police Department.
With investment from the capital city budget, 40 fully equipped vehicles were presented to the Capital City Health Department, while the Capital City Police Department was presented with 110 vehicles. By providing the departments with the vehicles, it enables emergency medical and police services to urgently arrive at required location within 3-5 minutes, protecting the lives, health and properties of citizens.
Acting Governor of the Capital City J.Batbayasgalan said, “Aside from normal vehicles, vehicles furnished with necessary equipment are crucial in order to urgently provide services to citizens. So, withinthe framework of creating the condition for citizens to live in a safe environment, vehicles are being renewed at health and police departments. As 50 percent of the population lives in the capital city, we are specially focusing on crime prevention.”
MP S.Amarsaikhan said, “The capital city has given emphasis on strengthening the capacity of hospitals, police departments, and emergency management departments, which all serve to guarantee the safe and healthy life of citizens. One vehicle is to serve 10 thousand people by standard. For this reason, during my time working as the city mayor, the renewal of the departments’ vehicles was included in the city budget. Last spring, the project, ‘Safe city’, was introduced to the Prime Minister, which is now underway. In order to reach the goal, necessary measures are to continue being implemented.”
“The last renewal of vehicles at the National Center for Communicable Diseases was in 2009. As our vehicles also provide ambulance services alongside providing services outside of the city, I am grateful for the provision of fully equipped vehicles,” said Director of National Center for Communicable Diseases D.Nyamkhuu.
