Training center for IT specialists opens

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. “Gerege Academy” training center to train information technology specialists has been opened within the framework of the project to train 10,000 software developers being jointly implemented by the Governor’s Office of the Capital City and Industrial Development Innovation Agency.
With the opening of the training center, children and young people will be able to acquire basic knowledge and skills in writing algorithm and programming. At his speech during the opening ceremony, Acting Governor of the capital city J.Batbayasgalan said, “We have to develop information technology sector in order to keep up with global technological advancements. That is why we are opening this training center for the young people, who make up 65 percent of Ulaanbaatar city’s population”.
He added that the training of information technology specialists will enable the development of other sectors such as large-scale information and communication technology production, international research and financial services.
"Moreover, it will open up
an opportunity for Mongolia to become a digital infrastructure hub connecting Central
Asia and East Asia, as well as the favorable condition will be created to
invest in global and multinational technology companies, boost economic growth
and create jobs."
“Training skilled programmers are the foundation of Ulaanbaatar’s transition to become an “E-city”. Therefore, we will support cooperation between the public and private sectors to the fullest” he said.
