Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On August 12, a group of officials led by Deputy Minister of Health Sh.Ankhmaa visited the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD).

During her visit, she obliged the corresponding officials to take measures on accelerating the building repairs being done at NCCD, increasing the amount of hospital beds to be used for isolating persons suspected with COVID-19, having the ventilation system operate at full capacity, and holding hospital staff members and personnel responsible for their actions.

Following the completion of the repairs, the number of rooms available for the isolation of suspected cases will increase by 60. Furthermore, by moving the center’s laboratories to the new building of NCCD, the beds will also increase by another 66. Therefore, by including the additional financing needed to accelerate the construction work in this year’s budget amendment, the NCCD laboratory building is expected to be commissioned in October.
