Second phase of a project on enhancing social welfare for children with special educational needs to be kicked off

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Education and Science L.Tsedevsuren received Ms. Tamura Eriko, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Mongolia Office on August 5.


During the meeting, they talked on progress and results of projects and programs running with Japanese non-refundable aid and loans while exchanging views on possibilities to expand cooperation in the future.


The Ministry of Education and Science of Mongolia has been implementing four projects in partnership with JICA. In connection with start of the new academic year, the sides talked over completing construction of general education schools, which are being built within JICA project. Besides, the two parties agreed to commence the second phase of a project entitled “Enhancing Health, Education and Social Welfare Services for Children with Special Educational Needs” this September.


The parties also shared opinions on involving young teachers and citizens in long and short term fellowship programs to train personnel of special needs education as well as setting up designated canteen in some general education schools of Mongolia and developing and carrying out a joint project that aim to provide them cooking equipment.
