Mongolia expresses interest in establishing joint venture with Australia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On July 27, Minister of Foreign Affairs N.Enkhtaivan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Australia to Mongolia Dave Vosen.


During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on deepening political relations between Mongolia and Australia, increasing the frequency of high-level talks and reciprocal visits, and strengthening the expanded partnership. Ambassador Dave Vosen conveyed the greetings of the Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Marise Payne and expressed his intention to hold the meeting between Foreign Ministers of the two countries as soon as possible.


Minister N.Enkhtaivan thanked Australia for its strong support for Mongolia's democracy and reforms from the very beginning, especially for its human resources development assistance. In addition to the mining sector, he expressed interest in expanding cooperation in trade and agriculture, and establishing an export-oriented joint venture based on Australian technology.


He further stressed the importance of closer cooperation during the difficult times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing that the Government of Mongolia pays special attention to the repatriation of Mongolian citizens stuck in Australia and thanked the Ambassador for his effort in this direction.
