Deputy Foreign Minister receives Chinese Ambassador

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Munkhjin received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Mongolia Chai Wenrui today.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador congratulated Deputy Foreign Minister B.Munkhjin on his appointment and wished him success in his future endeavors. The sides discussed a wide range of issues regarding the bilateral relations and international and regional cooperation.
The Deputy Foreign Minister expressed his commitment to put effort on maintaining the continuity of foreign policy of the newly formed Government of Mongolia and deepening the Mongolia-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, including the implementation of mega projects being discussed between the two countries.
For his part, Ambassador Chai Wenrui noted that the two sides have been cooperating closely and supporting each other on the international level, and stressed the importance of maintaining the frequency of high-level reciprocal visits and meetings, and stabilizing cooperation mechanisms in order to further develop bilateral relations.
Moreover, the sides also agreed to focus on the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy on mitigating the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and normalizing trade and economic cooperation.
