Research works to serve as foundation for development policies

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On July 22, Minister of Education and Science L.Tsedevsuren received representatives of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences (MAS) and the Mongolian Young Scientists’ Association.
At the start of the meeting, the Minister highlighted the necessity to develop a science-based approach in the society as research results must serve as the foundation for the country and the sector’s development.
She then underlined that certain matters will be focused, which include improving the cooperation between MAS, institutes, and universities to eliminate overlapping research publications in each sector, supporting research works that appropriately defined its importance as well as those expected to show good results, promoting lectures and courses organized by academicians to university professors and students, involving research students in research teams, and further developing the selection of research proposals.
The sides also discussed conducting a large scale research project led by MAS at the Government’s commission, increasing the budget for studies and research, and improving the laboratory equipment currently available, which would bring positive changes to the financing of the science sector and human resource development.
