Total COVID-19 cases reach 287

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At a daily briefing of the Ministry of Health on July 18, Director of the National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) D.Nyamkhuu reported that 25 peacekeepers who arrived home from Afghanistan have tested positive for the coronavirus, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 287. Including 28 peacekeepers who have previously tested positive for the virus after arriving home last week, 53 of the total 113 peacekeepers brought home from Afghanistan are diagnosed to have the coronavirus.


On the next day, the NCCD Director informed that two COVID-19 patients have made recovery from the disease. Specifically, a 26-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman have made recovery after 20 to 26 days of treatment. On July 18-19, a total of 443 COVID-19 tests were carried out and all of them came out negative. The NCCD Director also informed that a woman in home quarantine has gone into labor on July 19.


So far, of the 287 total cases, 213 have been recovered and 74 are currently receiving treatment at NCCD.
