Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. According to the statistics released by the National Statistics Office (NSO), 37,591 mothers delivered 37,869 children in the first half of 2020. The figure shows the decrease of 492 compared with the same period of the previous year.
Crude birth rate or births per 1000 people decreased by 0.3 percentage point compared with the same period of the previous year. Moreover, crude birth rate in Bayankhongor, Orkhon, Umnugovi, Uvs, Dornod, Govi-Altai, Khovd, Govisumber and Bayan-Ulgii aimags was 0.1-1.4 points higher than the national average, while the rate was 1.0-5.5 percentage points lower than the national average in other aimags.
Deaths per 1000 population or crude death rate decreased by 0.2 percentage point compared with the same period of the previous year.
Crude birth rate was 11.4, crude death rate was 2.4 and the natural population increase per 1000 population was 9.0.
