18 new imported COVID-19 cases detected, total rises to 179

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Eighteen new imported COVID-19 cases
were recorded in Mongolia and the total number has jumped to 179, said Director
of the National Center of Communicable Diseases (NCCD) D.Nyamkhuu at today’s
daily COVID-19 briefing of the Ministry of Health.
Specifically, 18 out of 230 people, who returned from Russia
through Altanbulag border checkpoint on May 28 and were transported to
Ulaanbaatar by train, were tested positive for COVID-19. The patients are aged
between 19 and 52, and 11 of them are students.
To date, 43 patients have recovered, and 136 people are undergoing treatment at NCCD. Among the patients, there are five children aged 8-16, two pregnant mothers, and a cancer patient.
