Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Amarsaikhan is holding online briefings every week on the activities of the Ulaanbaatar city government.

During his briefing of May 4, Monday, the Governor informed of the city government’s decision to close bars and night clubs back indefinitely.

“We are discussing possibilities to exempt businesses based in Ulaanbaatar from immovable property tax, and lower land tax and capital city tax with the Ministry of Finance and other ministries,” he said, while underlining that relevant ministers have been informed of the citizens’ request to reopen training centers.

The Governor then noted that works will begin this week to build a new homeless shelter to not only provide temporary residence for homeless individuals in Ulaanbaatar, but offer them landscaping jobs after giving necessary vocational training. The new 1,905 m2 shelter will provide temporary accommodation for 250 people.

To prevent Covid-19 spread, disinfection works have been carried out  in the capital city since February and 1.5 million m2 areas have recently been decontaminated, said the governor.
