War veteran Ya. Altangerel awarded with anniversary medal

Gobi-Altai /MONTSAME/. Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree to award the Mongolian war veterans, who fought in the Great Patriotic War, with the medal for the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
According to the decree, Mongolian war veteran Ya. Altangerel was awarded the jubilee medal. On April 22, the first secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Mongolia M.V.Dzhevakov and the second secretary of the Embassy S.S. Bezrukov presented the award to Ya.Altangerel.
The 99-year old veteran Ya. Altangerel lives in Yesunbulag soum of Gobi-Altai aimag. He was recruited into the army in 1940. In the spring of 1945, he fought in the war to liberate Chita, Russia.
