19th report on situations of human rights and freedom in Mongolia submitted to Parliament

Ulaanbaatar /MONSAME/ Head of the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia J.Byambadorj submitted the 19th annual report on situations of human rights and freedom in Mongolia to Speaker of the Parliament G.Zandanshatar on March 30.


The 19th report was developed within four main subjects - ‘Herder Women’s Human Rights situation: Some matters on rights to be free from violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights’, ‘Implementation of Law on Gender Equality’, ‘Some encountering issues on storage and protection of poisonous and hazardous chemical substances’ and ‘Universal Human Rights Index: Mongolia’s rating’. As reflected in the 9th and 17th provisions of the law on the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, it submitted 23 proposals to be discussed and resolved by the Parliament.


In particular, within the first chapter under the topic ‘Herder women’s human rights situation: Rights to be free from violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights’, 13 proposals have been put including “Aimag, soum, bagh governors to combat with domestic violence on the level of their affiliated territory, to fully execute their legal duty on protection of child’s rights; citizens representative council (khural) to resolve necessary financing for it” as well as “to make assistance and medical supervision of pregnancy accessible to women in secluded soums and baghs and to provide condition for pregnant women living in remote areas from the aimag center to give birth to a child in their soum hospital in urgent cases.”
