Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On the occasion of the World Consumer Rights Day, Deputy Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin called for the establishment of a more favorable online environment for children.
In his address, he said, “A joint decree by the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, and the Minister of Education, Culture, Science, and Sports has been issued on annually marking the World Consumer Rights Day at all secondary schools in the framework of ‘Children - Priority Consumers’ in aims of developing right habits for consumption in children, and enhancing consumer education. The Government of Mongolia implements various works to mature our children into valued, well-educated citizens. However, technological advancements and our environment continue to remind us to pay more attention to children. Thus, as the Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, I hereby call for:
1. Parents to pay special attention to the safety of their homes, and prevent any risks their children might be put into,
2. Organizations and entities to establish child-friendly, safe environments in the framework of their social responsibility,
3. Sales and service organizations to create a comfortable environment for children with health and safety guaranteed products,
4. Public media outlets to give special attention in creating child-friendly online environments, and spread child-appropriate news and information in aims of improving consumer education and protecting children’s rights.
