Companies told to provide self-quarantine conditions for employees returning from abroad

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On March 10, Mongolia confirmed an imported case of the Covid-19, the first case of the novel coronavirus in the country. The patient was a French national working for the Badrakh Energy Company and arrived in Mongolia on March 02. 


Concerning this, corresponding officials at today's daily briefing of the Ministry of Health on coronavirus situations issued a cautionary advice for companies employing foreign experts and workers to follow official guidelines and regulations in place to prevent from the spread of the coronavirus. 


The companies are strongly advised to provide the employees who had returned from abroad with conditions to self-isolate themselves and to work remotely, avoiding any contacts with other people. 


Moreover, the hospitality industry companies are urged to ensure the health safety of their employees working with guests arrived from foreign countries or take all necessary measures in this regard. 


Mongolian nationals are also being asked to self-isolate themselves and not to see their family members and relatives for two weeks after their arrival in the country. 


On the day when the French citizen working in Dornogobi aimag was tested positive for coronavirus, officials immediately identified 126 people, who came in close contact with him in the country and took samples from them to receive negative results for coronavirus today.
