Refined coal to be provided in exchange for ash

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ulaanbaatar city government has started a pilot project to exchange a sack of refined coal for five sacks of coal ash and recycle the ash.


A total of 11,845 households in 7th and 11th subdistricts of Chingeltei district and 2nd and 3rd subdistricts of Songinokhairkhan district will be involved in the project.


According to officials, coal ash, the non-combustible part of coal products, accounts for 48.2 percent of Ulaanbaatar’s entire waste stream in the winter.
