Top archeological artifacts put on display at State Treasury Museum

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Gold, silver, and jasper artifacts alongside ancient Roman glass, and bronze items found from tombs of nobles in Balgasyn tal, Arkhangai aimag have been moved to the collection of the State Treasury Museum of the Bank of Mongolia, and put on display.


Registered in the list of invaluable cultural heritage of Mongolia, the artifacts were discovered by a research team led by archeologist D.Erdenebaatar during excavations conducted in 2001-2011, and 2019.


Some of the artifacts discovered from the ‘Gol Mod II’ group of tombs has also been named in the top 10 archeological discoveries by the Archeology magazine of the Archeological Institute of America.
