/MONTSAME/ On December 25, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of Canada to Mongolia Catherine Ivkoff presented her letter of credence to
President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga.
Afterwards, President Kh.Battulga held a meeting with the Ambassador in connection with the presentation of her credentials, expressing his views on bilateral economic, cultural, and sports relations.
The
Mongolian President requested Ambassador Catherine Ivkoff to place
emphasis on diversifying bilateral economic relations, especially increasing
the role of agriculture in this regard, as trade and investments between the
two countries revolve only around
mining and minerals.
Informing
that a project commenced to redevelop Mongolian remote soums with a Canadian
technology, President Kh.Battulga called for the new Ambassador to get
acquainted with the project and take active part in bringing the project to more soums.
The sides also exchanged views on expanding bilateral
sports cooperation through joint sports training and exchanges of coaches and
instructors.
