Teacher of Selenge aimag to be nominated for Global Teacher Prize

Selenge /MONTSAME/. Elementary teacher of School no.3 of Mandal soum, Selenge aimag Ts.Ayush has become the winner of the ‘I’m a Teacher’ TV show, receiving the award of MNT 100 million. Co-produced by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, and Edutainment TV, the show was organized among over 10,000 elementary teachers of all schools throughout Mongolia in aims of improving teachers’ reputation, and level of evaluation, giving elementary level knowledge to children and parents, and building the capacity of young teachers.
In her interview, she said, “To be a teacher, one must be a good person. As we are teaching the very basic level knowledge of life to elementary grade students, we have to introduce lessons of the specific subject as well as those of life the right way, setting a good example for them. The greatest moment for teachers is to be happy seeing their students do well. Personally, I was very happy when four of my students won gold medals from the national olympiad.” One of the features of Ts.Ayush’s teaching method is how she considers that each and every student has their own advantages, and that they are able to learn once their interest in learning is piqued.
Named as the top teacher of Mongolia, she is to be nominated for the 2020 Global Teacher Prize, which will take place in London, U.K in October 2020.
