‘Historic Path’ photo exhibition opens

/MONTSAME/ The Historic Path joint exhibition presented by MONTSAME National
News Agency of Mongolia and Xinhua News Agency of China launched at the National
Art Gallery of Mongolia on December 23.
The opening
ceremony of the exhibition being organized in celebration of the 70th
anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and China was attended by
Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports G.Ganbayar,
Director of MONTSAME B.Ganchimeg, Head of the education ministry's Cultural and
Arts Policy Department B.Sergelen, chargé d'affaires ad interim of the Embassy
of China in Mongolia Yang Qingdong, cultural counsellor of the embassy Li Wei,
and Director of Xinhua news agency in Mongolia Ashan.
Underlining that the two countries have been expanding their relations and cooperation in politics, education, culture, sports and many other areas over the past seven decades, Deputy Minister G.Ganbayar expressed his pleasure at visiting the exhibition featuring the best photos taken by the two news agency’s photographers.
Director of MONTSAME B.Ganchimeg said, “For
MONTSAME, 2019 was a year of expanding our external cooperation. In September,
2019, we mounted the Two Nations – One Victory photo exhibition in
collaboration with the Russian News Agency Rossiya Segodnya and now we are partnering
with Xinhua. MONTSAME is thus successfully hosting photo exhibitions with the
biggest news agencies of our neighboring countries.” She also mentioned that the
agency has been elected as an executive board member of the Organization of
Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) and is to host OANA’s Executive Board Meeting
and Technical Committee Meeting next year in Ulaanbaatar.
Director B.Ganchimeg noted that MONTSAME and Xinhua agreed to co-organize photo exhibitions during celebrations and large scale events as renewing their cooperation agreement established in 1958, last year and extended gratitude to the Chinese embassy in Mongolia for fully supporting the exhibition and to Xinhua for the collaboration.
The exhibition
is showcasing a total of 140 photos - 70 photos by MONTSAME photographers and
70 photos by Xinhua photographers - depicting the history and current state of
bilateral relations and cooperation and some of them are from the archives of
the two agencies.
The exhibition will be open until December 31.
