Society
Ulaanbaatar
/MONTSAME/ B.Otgonsukh, official in charge of road and transport projects at
the Ulaanbaatar City Government, met with James Anderson, World Bank (WB)’s Country
Representative for Mongolia.
At the
meeting, the sides discussed and exchanged views on numerous issues concerning
roads in Ulaanbaatar, especially the Mapillary street-level imagery
platform introduced in the capital city last year. Mapillary scales and
automates mapping using collaboration, cameras, and computer vision and aims to
improve road infrastructure safety and road asset management planning.
Mr. B.Otgonsukh
said, “Mongolia and WB have been cooperating in road transport for five years. Mapillary was
introduced in 2018 for road development and the results are visually evident. 340
thousand photos of 1,100 km roads have so far been taken. We are working to
facilitate and speed up our collaboration with WB and introduce new
technologies to create an integrated road fund. We are always ready to
cooperate on major development projects for the capital city”
