Best participants of essay competition in Japanese awarded

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The best participants of the first essay competition in Japanese language under the topic ‘The reason for having interest in Japan?’ received their awards today, on November 29.


‘Mongoru Tsushin’, weekly newspaper in Japanese, operated  by the MONTSAME national news agency organized the competition on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan. More than 30 pupils of the 11th and 12th classes of 11 general education schools took part in the competition. There are a total of 13 Japanese schools nationwide in Mongolia.


Opening the award-presenting ceremony, Deputy Director of the MONTSAME news agency Sh.Batbold noted that the agency has been organizing competitions named after the weekly newspapers in English, Russian, Chinese and Japanese in partnership with the corresponding Embassies and cultural and humanitarian organizations. "Pupils of the capital city, Darkhan-Uul, Tuv and Khuvsgul aimags actively  participated in the first essay competition named after Mongoru Tsushin newspaper, the only newspaper published in Japanese in Mongolia. I hope that the scope of the competition will be broadened in the future. I am expressing my gratitude to the Embassy of Japan in Mongolia, Mongolia-Japan Friendship Society and Mongolian KENDAMA Association for the support."  


2nd grader of New Mongol Kosen high school D.Tergel won the first place while 12th grader of ‘Khumuun’ complex school of Zuunmod city, Tuv aimag A.Bat-Ariunaa took the second place and 10th grader of ‘Naran’ secondary school E.Anand the third place. Whereas, the special prize went to pupil of general education school of Jargalan soum, Khuvsgul aimag Kh.Byambajargal.




“I am learning Japanese language for the 3rd year. I tried to describe persistent and diligent characters of Japanese people in my essay. Japanese are the people who eager to give hope and trust each other and I explained it through the example of situations after atomic bombing in Hiroshima. Moreover, I mentioned my admiration of its people when I was traveling in Japan in 2017,” said 12th grader of ‘Khumuun’ complex school A.Bat-Ariunaa.  




10th grader of ‘Naran secondary school E.Anand said " I intended to reflect three things in my essay. Firstly, kindness of Japanese people, secondly, economic development of Japan and finally, the anime. I watch anime in my spare time. In my essay I also wrote about my dream about visiting the places which appear in the anime I watched.


The essay competition will be organized annually.
