Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A bill on ratifying the amendment to Article 38 of the Statutes of the World Tourism Organization (WTO) was adopted at the Parliament’s plenary meeting on November 21.

In November 2007, the General Assembly of the WTO, established in 1974, resolved to add Chinese language to organization’s official languages, which are currently English, Arabic, French, Russian and Spanish. The revised article shall enter into force after two-thirds of the WTO membership completed their domestic ratification process and as of now, 72 member states out of its 164 members have ratified the amendment.

Mongolian, a member of WTO since 1990, has been taking an active part in the WTO in recent years.
