Political journalism promotion program begins

/MONTSAME/ On November 30, the National University of Mongolia and Office of
the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) in Mongolia officially embarked on a
program for the development of political journalism by establishing a cooperation
agreement on the program.
Director of
the NUM School of Sciences D.Zayabaatar and KAS Country Representative to
Mongolia Johann Fuhrmann signed the agreement on the program based on the
political science master’s program of NUM.
Mr. D.Zayabaatar,
during the signing ceremony, highlighted that NUM is paying attention to
improving and supporting advanced level programs and training journalists that
will abide by
professional standards and ethics in line with international trends in the
field.
Country
Representative Johann Fuhrmann said, “We have been cooperating with NUM Department
of Political Science for quite a while. Since our office was established in
Ulaanbaatar in 1993, we have conducted numerous activities to strengthen and develop
democracy in Mongolia. In particular, we have chiefly cooperated with the
country’s Press Institute to foster independent media. This time, we are
starting our political journalism promotion program in collaboration with NUM.
It is important to develop professional political journalism in the democratic
country”
Under the program, certificates for full scholarships hav been granted to five students.
