Asian Youth Boxing Championships taking place in Ulaanbaatar city

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The opening ceremony of Youth Men's and Women's Asian Boxing Championships took place at Buyant Ukhaa Sports Palace on November 11. 


“The Mongolian Boxing Federation is hosting the Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Ulaanbaatar city for the first time in collaboration with the Asian Boxing Confederation and the International Boxing Association. More than 200 young boxers from 17 different countries are competing in the tournament. Mongolian top and promising boxers are challenging their skills and I am confident that many world and Olympic champions would be born from here. Furthermore, our boxers are making intensive training to bring medals from Tokyo-2020 Olympic Games,” President of the Mongolian Boxing Federation D.Bat-Erdene said.


The first bout of the whole competition was won by Mongolian boxer Enkhtur Tegshjargal, who was strongly motivated against a top Indian rival.


The tournament will wrap up on November 17.
