Consultation held on Mongolia’s meat industry

/MONTSAME/ On October 14, a consultative meeting on Mongolia’s meat industry
between the Government of Mongolia and international organizations was held at
the Office of the Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations
Headquarters and other international
organizations in Geneva.
The meeting
was aimed at exchanging views on the current state of and challenges facing Mongolia’s livestock sector, especially meat industry, cooperation with
international organizations in that field, and further enhancement of cooperation.
Presided by Mongolian
Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation and Permanent Representative to the
United Nations L.Purevsuren, the consultation involved representatives from the
Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia, World Trade
Organization, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, United Nations Food and Agriculture
Organization, United Nations Environment Programme, United Nations Economic
Commission for Europe as well as the International Trade Center.
Following a brief presentation on the projects and programs being implemented in Mongolia’s meat
industry, the representatives talked about meat production and processing, barriers in meat processing field and ways to overcome them, and intensification
of cooperation.
