Scholars discuss new era of Mongolia-China relations

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and China, numerous events within the political, economic, humanitarian and local relations areas are being organized throughout this year. One of those events, an academic conference under the theme “New era of Mongolia-China relations: opportunities and challenges” was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia on September 30.
Organized under the initiative of Minister of Foreign Affairs, D.Tsogtbaatar, the conference aimed to gather scholars from Mongolia and China, increase opportunities for future development, identify trends of future relationship and work together to overcome mutual challenges and explore scientific solution for growth. With their discussions during the conference, the scholars hearkened back to the historical development path of the Mongolia-China partnership in the past seven decades while seeking for more opportunities for further cooperation. An issue of regional development of the Northeast Asia was also touched on.
State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, senior diplomats, officials from the Chinese Embassy in Ulaanbaatar, scholars and researchers from the two countries including representatives from the Institute of International Affairs of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Mongolian State University of Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University and Inner Mongolia University took part in the conference.
