Mongolian Ambassador reports national implementation of Vienna Program of Action

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations S.Sukhbold attended 2019 Annual Ministerial Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Landlocked Developing Countries, held in New York City on September 25 in the course of the 74th General Assembly of the United Nations.


The meeting was attended by A.R.Palacios, Paraguay’s Foreign Minister, head of LLDCs group, T.Muhammad-Bande, head of the United Nation’s 74th General Assembly, F.Utoikamanu, United Nations Deputy Secretary-General and High Representative for Least Developed, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States, A.S.Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, and Foreign Ministers of the member-states.


During the meeting, the LLDCs Foreign Ministers expressed positions of their respective country on climate change, sustainable development goals and development funding and shared their experiences in implementing Vienna Program of Action alongside holding discussion on joint efforts to ensure the program’s future implementation.


Ambassador S.Sukhbold reported on the progress of national implementation of the ‘Vienna Program of Action’ and the Government’s policies, activities and initiatives and also introduced the national contribution and involvement to ensure preparations for the review of mid-term implementation of the program.


Assuring their commitment to the implementation of ‘Vienna Program of Action’, the Foreign Ministers of LLDCs approved ministers’ declaration to intensify the implementation of the ‘Vienna Program of Action’.
