President Kh.Battulga meets Indian PM

During his state visit to the Republic of India, President Kh.Battulga met
with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 20.
During the visit of
Indian PM Narendra Modi to Mongolia in 2015, the sides approved the oil
refinery project. Construction of infrastructure works or rail and auto road of
the refinery to be built in accordance with the project have been complete.
The President said that
the previous week, he visited the project site to get acquainted with the
construction process.
The sides seriously
talked over issues in regard with constructing a pipeline from Dornod aimag in where
Mongolia’s oil fields are predominately located, to the oil refinery. PM
Narendra Modi accepted Mongolian proposal on transporting oil by other
transport alternatives or railway rather than pipeline, to study
together the possibilities.
During the meeting, the
Indian side informed of Indian government’s decision to issue USD236 million as
additional funding to the project. Thanking for the decision, the President
underlined that cooperating in the process of refinery construction by means of
ensuring participation of Mongolian companies and products would be effective for further business relations and investment.
The President also
requested to pay attention on issues to support business sector’s cooperation.
At the meeting, the
sides also exchanged views on amplifying people-to-people relations through
bilateral cultural, religious and sports activities.
Following the official
meeting, President Kh.Battulga and PM Narendra Modi jointly inaugurated the Lord
Buddha statue at Gandantegchinlen Monastery in Mongolia via video-conferencing.

Monastery of Mongolia.
